I was trying to build the code for part 3 of the tutorial on my Arch machine, and got an error message saying "undefined reference to `__stack_chk_fail_local'". After some digging, I found out that I had to add the "-fno-stack-protector" flag to my GCCPARAMS in the makefile. From my understanding, it's because most Linux distros disable stack protector by default.

That solved the problem for me, so I hope this can be of use to someone.
