Error: file not found

Error: file not found

Postby ydy » 29. Dec 2017, 14:19

When I try to select my os, I get next error:
error: file 'mykernel.bin' not found
error: you need to load the kernel first

I copied code from github. mykernel.bin is located at /boot.

I haven't got this issue though, where I can successfully boot into the kernel via grub.

I had that same problem. The way I fixed it was changing
Code: Select all
/boot/mykernel.bin
to
Code: Select all
/mykernel.bin
in the grub.cfg.

You can look in your /boot directory for other files besides mykernel.bin, and then look for those same file names in your grub.cfg. If they are called as /filename rather than /boot/filename, then you should change how you call your mykernel.bin file to match.

Hope that helps!

Thank you so much! For some reason the other entries appear to have /boot/filename, but changing to /filename worked for me.
